Altaf (“Taff”) is a UK-qualified solicitor and Transformational Business and Legal Leader.
In 1994, Taff transitioned from private practice into in-house roles, where he rose through the corporate ranks to become Vice President and General Counsel, EMEA for a £billion global entity.

Over the course of his in-house career, he led Legal and HR functions across 35 countries and worked extensively within Operations, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Logistics, giving him a rare, holistic understanding of how legal functions support and drive business performance.

One of the defining moments of his career saw him relocate to Istanbul to rescue the Turkish and Bulgarian businesses from imminent closure. Within 18 months, he successfully revived both operations, transformed EBITDA, and oversaw expansion into six new countries across the Middle East and former USSR territories. He subsequently returned to England to take up a Vice President, Corporate Affairs role.
Since then, Taff has led and advised both small and large businesses across multiple jurisdictions, some successfully, others less so; experiences that have shaped his practical, candid, and results-driven coaching approach.

Taff has worked across 42 countries and lived in three. He is currently based in London with his family.
A long-standing coach and mentor, he is ILM Level 5 certified, a member of the Association of Business Mentors, and a PROFIT Coach with the Business Coaching Academy.

His work focuses on helping lawyers and legal leaders bridge the gap between legal expertise and commercial leadership, building sustainable, ethical, and profitable legal businesses.

Since 2014, Taff has bought, transformed and sold Law Firms, as well as set up new start-ups across Europe and Africa.

Taff now follows a portfolio career as Fractional CEO, General Counsel and Business Coach.
